Texas National Guardsman on Border Deployment Killed in Crash

A Texas Army National Guard soldier died in a two-vehicle crash near the border city of Eagle Pass on Tuesday. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials identified the soldier as 44-year-old Jeremy Vance Randolph of Dallas, Texas. The accident occurred at 1 p.m. on U.S. Highway 277, about 24 miles north of Eagle Pass.

Texas Governor Welcomes First Soldiers to State Border Military Base

Texas Governor Greg Abbott welcomed the first 300 National Guard soldiers as they relocated to a new forward operating base located on the Mexican border just south of Eagle Pass. SCOTUS Clears Historic Texas Immigration Law for Enforcement

The U.S. Supreme Court issued a ruling on Tuesday allowing the Texas SB4 Immigration Law to go into effect, at least for now. The action by the court will leave in place an appeals court administrative stay on an earlier federal judge’s preliminary injunction blocking the law from taking effect as scheduled. The latest ruling will see the matter sent back to United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals who will hear the case on appeal.
